Urban Renewal Through The Power of Play
Midas Football Academy is deeply rooted in a mission of urban renewal and community improvement. Recognizing the alarming statistic that approximately 70% of America’s juvenile and adult inmates come from fatherless backgrounds, we’re driven to address the underlying societal challenges.
Our approach is holistic: leveraging sports, especially soccer, to engage youth early, providing them with positive, structured environments. This early engagement is our tool to combat the numerous societal challenges, from youth crime to drug abuse, particularly in marginalized communities. At Midas, it’s more than just a game; it’s about transforming communities and lives.
A Letter from the President:
Why the Crossing Bridges program matters
At the heart of Midas Football Academy lies a profound understanding of the intricate fabric of our society and the challenges that persist, especially in our urban landscapes. Statistics like those from the National Fatherhood Initiative, which highlight the staggering 70% of juvenile and adult inmates in America stemming from fatherless backgrounds, are not just numbers to us. They’re a call to action.
Our core mission pivots on this understanding, recognizing the significant social challenges that arise from the breakdown of family structures and the ripple effects it creates in our communities. It is our steadfast belief that early engagement in structured, positive activities like sports can be pivotal. Sports, particularly soccer, provide more than just physical activity; they offer a sense of belonging, instill discipline, build character, and most importantly, offer an alternative to the streets.
By championing the immense benefits of early sporting engagement, our objective is to inspire urban renewal and foster community improvement. Through the beautiful game of soccer, we hope to redirect the energy of our youth, curbing prevalent social vices like youth crime, gang affiliations, and drug abuse, particularly in underserved communities.
We invite you to join hands with Midas as we endeavor to transform urban landscapes, one child, one game, and one community at a time. Together, we can rewrite the narrative for our youth and our cities.
