Bayonle Arashi – Biography

Through every endeavor, Bayonle Arashi’s dedication remains unwavering: to elevate the game of soccer and provide unparalleled opportunities for the youth, whether in Houston, United States or back in Lagos Nigeria.

Broadcaster and Coach

Bayonle Arashi, an acclaimed soccer broadcaster and visionary youth coach, has left an indelible mark on the world of soccer, both in Nigeria and internationally. Earning his stripes in radio and television broadcasting after his college years, Arashi quickly ascended the professional ladder. Starting his broadcasting career in 1999.

Bayonle Arashi’s early years were marked by a deep-rooted passion for football. Representing his high school in Ibadan during his senior year showcased his dedication and skill. His journey continued as he moved on to a technical college in 1996. Even as his passions led him towards broadcasting instead of a professional football career, his love for the game remained undiminished.

Technical Roots to Top-Tier Soccer Broadcasting

Bayonle transitioned into broadcasting in 1999, starting as a technician. However, destiny had grander plans for him, and he swiftly found his way into production. This transition enriched his understanding of the game. He was deeply involved in broadcasting matches for Nigeria’s national teams, spanning from the junior U-17 squad to the senior team. His coverage encompassed 4 Africa Cup of Nations and two FIFA World Cups – 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa. This provided him with an intimate understanding of the intricate machinery behind professional football and the monumental efforts required behind the scenes.

Relocating to the United States in 2015, Arashi found a renewed love for broadcasting in Houston. He aligned himself with the African Broadcasting Network and Afrocentric Television, producing a weekly magazine show spotlighting top European leagues and MLS. His 2018 venture, “Russia Roundup,” was an extensive showcase of every World Cup team.

Broadcaster becomes Champion Youth Coach

An unexpected turn in 2009 saw Bayonle assuming the role of a youth soccer coach. When his soccer academy in Nigeria was invited to two U-17 International tournaments in Germany and Denmark, visa complications led to Bayonle, primarily a broadcaster, having to take the helm as the team’s coach. With his profound knowledge and innate leadership, the team emerged victorious in both tournaments, an astounding accomplishment for someone at 29, renowned in broadcasting but uncharted in coaching. Following this triumph, Bayonle immersed himself deeper into the realm of coaching, realizing that success therein was not just about technical proficiency, but primarily about leadership and exemplifying ideals for players.

Moreover, as an author, his book “Roadmap to a Successful Football Career: The Secrets Agents and Scouts Didn’t Want You to Know” stands as a testament to his expertise and passion for the sport.

Midas Football Academy: A Visionary Blend of Soccer and Vocational Education

Recognizing soccer’s burgeoning popularity globally, Arashi felt compelled to uplift Nigeria’s youth, many of whom brimmed with talent but lacked essential resources. With an unyielding commitment to this vision, he founded the Midas Football Academy. His aspirations for the academy were not merely confined to soccer training; he dreamt of a comprehensive 12-acre facility. where, young aspirants would receive vocational training in perpetually in-demand fields: computer technology, broadcasting, vehicle repair, and fashion design. The ethos underpinning this was Arashi’s firm belief: “Not everyone can make a career out of football.”

Having experienced the zenith of the sport, especially with his participation in the Men’s FIFA World Cup, Bayonle Arashi is perfectly positioned to guide the younger generation. Whether they are budding soccer players or up-and-coming broadcasters, Bayonle offers insights into navigating the tumultuous waters of career uncertainties and the myriad challenges that lurk in the shadows.
